SONGS THAT SAVE: News of compassion and teamwork has just arrived. The global music community has come together to bring aid to the victims of the Philippines tragedy, Typhoon Haiyan. Songs for the Philippines is a unique combination of 39 chart-topping hits from stars such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Eminem, Beyonce, Katy Perry, One Direction, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, P!nk, Kings of Leon, Lorde and many others. The album is a heart-warming effort from UMG, Sony, Warner and countless subsidiaries that was accomplished with lightning speed. The artists, record companies and music publishers will be donating proceeds from the album to the Philippine Red Cross. Most of the tracks are previously available, but some of them are remixes. It's only $9.99 for 39 songs and they're allowing people to preview it on iTunes Radio (with streaming revenues also going to the cause). Get your copy here. Ludacris also shows his support by making a $100k donation to the U.N. World Food Program and calling on Americans to make text donations. Text the word AID to 80108 to make a $10 donation to The mGive Foundation's Philippines Disaster Relief Fund. (11/25p)
