Mayer parts ways with manager

WAITING ON THE WORLD TO CHANGE: John Mayer and manager Michael McDonald reportedly met on Monday in New York and mutually decided to end their 13-year relationship, which began well before the release of Mayer’s breakthrough full-length debut album, 2001’s Room for Squares (Aware/Columbia). No word yet on Mayer’s next move, but McDonald will continue to work with Mick Management clients including Passion Pit, Brett Dennen, White Denim, Sharon Van Etten and Ray LaMontagne. The latter is working on his next RCA album with producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. (12/4a)
