Grammy CBS

CBS, EYE OF THE STORM: Crazy how the TV guys at CBS—Mr. Jack Sussman and producer extraordinaire Ken Ehrlich—have been thrown under the bus as regards the rigging of the Grammy nominations. Somehow, it’s been alleged, they had a hand in keeping Justin Timberlake and Jay Z out of consideration for top categories such as Song, Record and Album of the Year. But by what convoluted logic would ratings-obsessed TV execs put the kibosh on music’s biggest stars on music’s biggest night? That makes no sense—they want JZ and JT doing their show, because without them the ratings will suffer. The artists and their labels, lawyers, managers and agents all want to know who’s really responsible for the snub. (12/18p)
