Top 10 tracks

TOP 10 TRACKS: Although sales were off by double digits from the Christmas week download frenzy, when Pitbull-Ke$ha sold 442k and A Great Big World-Xtina moved 355k, they were nothing to sneeze at. In terms of the big picture, all of the Top 10 tracks are massive, with “Royals” and “Roar” both closing in on 5m, and every one of them north of 1.5m. Who says downloading is passé?

1. Pitbull f/Ke$ha, “Timber” – 301k
2. A Great Big World f/Xtina, “Say Something” – 241k
3. OneRepublic, “Counting Stars” – 237k
4. Katy Perry f/Juicy J, “Dark Horse” – 229k
5. Eminem f/Rihanna, “Monster” – 220k
6. Passenger, “Let Her Go” – 184k
7. Lorde, “Royals” – 183k
8. One Direction, “Story of My Life” – 158k
9. Katy Perry, “Roar” – 157k
10. Avicii, “Wake Me Up” – 141k

The fact that the occupants of the leaderboard are too legit to quit makes it tough for any relative newcomer to supplant any of the incumbents, but Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go” from Disney’s chart-topping Frozen soundtrack is getting tantalizingly close, jumping 18-12 with 130k. Lorde’s follow-up “Team” (19-13, 118k) and Bastille’s Pompeii (22-14, 114k) look like bona fide contenders as well. (1/9a)
