Kimmel going to SXSW

JIMMY JOINS THE MARCH PILGRIMAGE: For the first time since moving to the 11:35pm slot, Jimmy Kimmel Live will hit the road for a week of shows coinciding with the 28th edition of South by Southwest. The ABC show will take over the Long Center for the Performing Arts on the south side of Town Lake. Expect the musical performances and comedy segments to draw heavily on SXSW performers and local culture. “Austin is one of my favorite cities, and there is no place more fun than SXSW,” Kimmel offered. “I can't wait for March 10. I'll be the guy covered in BBQ sauce." The last time JKL left Hollywood was in November 2012, when the show aired from Brooklyn, with performances by Alicia Keys, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Vampire Weekend and the Avett Brothers with the Brooklyn Philharmonic. That run drew the second-highest ratings in the show’s nearly 11-year history. (1/21a)
