Top 10 tracks

TOP 10 TRACKS: Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” climbed 15% this last week but hasn’t yet overtaken Katy Perry’s still-galloping “Dark Horse” (-22%), as it did in the iTunes store several days ago, but it’s fun to watch the parabolas of these two smashes as they near a point of intersection. (It’s perfectly understandable if you’d prefer to watch the sun dip below the Pacific.) “Happy” is one of five leaderboard occupants in positive territory, the biggest uptick—28%—registered by Idina Menzel’s Frozen-fueled “Let It Go,” followed by A Great Big World’s “Say Something” (+12%), as it nestles against the similarly bittersweet “Let Her Go” (+3%) from Passenger. Hey, wouldn’t it be nutty if “Let Her Go” and “Let It Go” wound up next to each other on next week’s chart? In another amusing subplot of the week’s sales story, Lorde’s “Team” leapfrogged “Roar,” which had jumped the follow-up single after her Grammy performance, to replace it at #10.

1. Katy Perry f/Juicy J, “Dark Horse” – 291k
2. Pharrell Williams, “Happy” – 252k
3. Jason Derulo f/2 Chainz, “Talk Dirty” – 242k
4. Passenger, “Let Her Go” – 182k
5. A Great Big World f/Xtina, “Say Something” – 171k
6. Idina Menzel, “Let It Go” – 138k
7. Bastille, “Pompeii” – 131k
8. Pitbull f/Ke$ha, “Timber” – 130k
9. Aloe Blacc, “The Man” – 125k
10. Lorde, “Team” – 113k

John Legend’s “All of Me” stayed at #11 as the Grammy spike began to fade, but we suspect Cupid’s arrow will propel it into the prime real estate by this week’s end. Indeed, if you wake up in a panic Friday morning realizing you’d forgotten it’s Valentine’s Day, just race to the computer and download the sucker—it’s better than nothing. (2/13a)
