iTunes charts

DOWNLOAD THIS: The iTunes Editors’ Notes describes the debuting chart-topper from WB Nashville’s Cole Swindell as “A fun-loving collection of hook-driven contemporary county.” (We’re always relieved when somebody other than us commits a typo.) The somewhat less fun-loving and decidedly more intense LP from EMI Nashville’s Eric Church is still raising holy hell in its second week. The indie sector is repped by Atlanta metalcore purveyors Issues (on Rise) and wildly eclectic Bostonian quartet Lake Street Dive (on Signature Sound). Also in play is the sophomore album from Barsuk/Republic coed duo Phantogram, powered by the Modern Rock hit "Fall in Love." As for the usual suspects, get used to seeing Virgin’s Bastille hanging out with the biggies, because they’re in the process of joining this exclusive club. Indeed, the London newcomers are the only act to appear on both the albums and singles charts, joining fellow rookies Aloe Blacc, Passenger, A Great Big World and Lorde in the latter grouping.
