iTunes UK charts

YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS: A perusal of the teabag Top 10s on this Friday morning in mid-March reveals that certain things travel extremely well, notably Pharrell Williams, John Legend, the Frozen soundtrack, Katy Perry, Flo Rida, A Great Big World and any track with Pitbull on it. The charts also indicate that certain other things remain distinctly British, among them Elbow (art-rock stars over there, inexplicably obscure over here), Ministry of Sound compilations and any track featuring someone called Jess Glynne. There are also three or four EDM outfits—Route 94, Clean Bandit, DVBBS & Borgeous—that have been popping up for the last couple of weeks on the Shazam U.K. chart. Will any of these become a popular import here in the States? As usual, we’re clueless. (3/14a)
