SXSW, Hozier hype

TEXAS TWO-STEP: Two of the buzzier acts at SXSW last week, Columbia’s Hozier and Capitol’s Sam Smith, made their mutual admiration public the modern way—on Twitter—during their Austin sojourns. Sam wrote (and Hozier retweeted),“Can't tell you how good it was to finally meet you last night @Hozier !! Such a big fan. Hopefully see you again soon x.” Our man in Austin Jeff Leven didn’t see either artist, but he did manage to check out dozens of bands during the course of the music industry’s spring break, as you’ll see if you read his wrap-up. Here’s Hozier baring his Irish soul on Texas soil—which coincides nicely with St. Paddy’s Day, doncha think? (3/17a)
