Cobain: new photos from death scene

CASE CLOSED: Reviewing the case files on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death, Seattle police discovered four rolls of undeveloped film from the suicide scene, according to various reports. Late on Thursday, they released two previously unseen images from these rolls. One shows a box containing drug paraphernalia, a spoon and what look like needles on the floor next to half a cigarette and sunglasses. The other (shown) shows the box closed alongside cash, a cigarette pack and a wallet that appears to show Cobain's ID. "There was nothing earth-shattering in any of these images," said police spokeswoman Renee Witt. "The detective went into the case files to refresh himself. The outcome of the case has not changed." Cobain took his own life on 4/8/94. (3/21a)
