KNRK helps Music Millennium

PUT THE ROOF ON THE SUCKER: Heartwarming news out of Portland, which is sort of a real-life version of Portlandia, but with less Fred Armisen and more rain. PoMo station KNRK has come to the aid of beloved retailer Music Millennium. The store has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for essential repairs, including a new roof, and MD Greg Glover (seen here with MM's Terry Currier) will be broadcasting—accompanied by his faithful dog, Biscuit—from the store's roof until the requisite funds are raised. "I've lived in Portland for almost 10 years," Glover notes, "and not a single week has passed by without at least one visit to Music Millennium." He added, "Record stores are unfortunately becoming an endangered species and I'm going to do all I can to keep this one from going extinct." Station manager/PD Mark Hamilton called the retailer "a wonderful partner for many years," and then dropped the needle on his freshly scored copy of The Best of Quarterflash. (3/21p)
