IB Barry tease

DECISIONS, DECISIONS: A number of I.B. Bad’s usual suspects find themselves in different situations following last week’s dramatic reorganization of UMG’s East Coast operations, as our man behind the scenes points out in his detailed breakdown of the changes, appearing in two parts beginning this morning and concluding Friday morning. The featured player whose future is least certain is Barry Weiss, a respected record man coming off a largely frustrating three-year stint as the titular head of UMG East, who now becomes a free agent with a number of intriguing possibilities to consider and/or pursue. Could Weiss find himself following in the footsteps of fellow erstwhile major-label bigwig Lyor Cohen? According to I.B., such a scenario is a distinct possibility, though Weiss would likely go about dealing with the entrepreneurial challenges quite differently, as you'll see. (4/10p)
