Les Moonves

OVER THE MOONVES: CBS CEO Les Moonves got a compensation package worth $66.9 million last year, according to an L.A. Times report on the network's SEC filing. Nearly $55m of that took the form of a bonus and stock awards, with his salary accounting for just $3.5m. By contrast, Chairman Sumner Redstone took $57m in compensation. The network declared Moonves' haul "is reflective of his continued strong leadership"; certainly the Eye's fears of an aging audience (and encroaching new media) have been somewhat allayed by this week's announcement that Moonves had landed Stephen Colbert, a demigod to the treasured 18-49 demo, to succeed David Letterman.
