W/C named ASCAP Pubco of the Year

A TIP OF THE ASCAP: Warner/Chappell and Sony/ATV tied for Publisher of the Year honors at the 2014 ASCAP Pop Music Awards last night. Max Martin was named Songwriter of the Year; Robin Thicke grabbed Song of the Year on behalf of his "Blurred Lines"; Tom Petty got the Founders Award; and Nate Ruess accepted the the Vanguard Award on behalf of his band, fun. Dr. Luke's Prescription Songs got the indie publisher prize. W/C and Sony/ATV took 18 "most performed" song trophies apiece. Stay tuned for updates. (4/24p)
