iTunes U.K. charts

YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS: On this, the first Friday of May, we see the usual assortment of hits comps on the albums chart and the typical passel of EDM DJ one-offs on the singles side. What’s intriguing is the number of transatlantic stars who are represented, both established (Coldplay, Chris Brown, John Legend) and ascending (5 Seconds of Summer, Calvin Harris, Kiesza, Tove Lo). Other points of interest: Paolo Nutini’s EP has been #1 since its release three weeks ago, and the expanded edition of Lana Del Rey’s debut album, which came out in November 2012, has reappeared in advance of her forthcoming follow-up, for reasons we can’t readily explain.
