Hozier, part 1

IRISH UP, PART 1: The U.S. assault by Columbia’s Hozier continues, as the Irish singer/songwriter follows up last night’s sold-out Troubadour show (see review below) and his VH1 Big Morning Buzz performance with an Ellen taping (airing tomorrow). Lead single “Take Me to Church” (from the 2013 EP of the same name) is currently #8 on the Mediabase Triple A chart, while the controversial video has logged more than 3.5m views. A recent NPR All Things Considered piece put the artist before the largest non-comm audience available. Stay tuned. (5/21p)
