Eddy & Jimmy hit Re/code

THE EDDY & JIMMY SHOW: Finally, Eddy Cue and Iovine made an appearance last night at the Re/code Conference in SoCal. Cue said Apple bought Beats because "music is dying. It hasn't been growing," and that he hopes the combining of the two companies will help bring it back to life. "When you bring what Beats has got and what we've got, it's not two plus two is four. It's something much more than that." He also raved about Beats’ "amazing premium headphones," while Iovine joked about Apple’s earbuds, "They make them to see if the machine works." Added Cue, "We make the best headphones that come in the box." If they seemed giddy, they had every reason to be. (5/29a)
