iTunes UK charts

YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS: Sam Smith and Coldplay haven’t budged from the top two positions for well over a week, weathering a slate of new releases on Monday, and In the Lonely Hour continues to occupy two slots on the leaderboard. Both of these albums are behaving like hits, which is precisely what they are. The same can be said for Paolo Nutini’s Caustic Love, which has yet to be released in the States, and the Frozen soundtrack, which travels extremely well. The new release with the most life is from Clean Bandit, a U.K. six-piece that mashes classical and pop, which recently had a chart-topping single with “Rather Be.” Singles-wise, Pharrell has boosted Ed Sheeran to the top spot, but Sam’s “Stay With Me” has staying power, as does John Legend’s transatlantic smash “Stay With Me.” (6/6a)
