Jack White vinyl

HERE'S THE SPIN: On his way to a #1 on this week's HITS Album Sales Chart, Jack White will set a modern-day record with vinyl sales of his Lazaretto (Third Man/Columbia), which could exceed 30k—the largest first-week total in 20 years. The current era's all-time record holder is Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy, which sold 34k in 1994. That LP, however, was released two weeks in advance of the CD. In a related story, an indie record-store clerk rolled his eyes today when a customer bought an album that had been played on the radio. (6/16a)
