iHEART'S RACING: iHeartRadio has announced that it's passed the 50 million-user mark. Clear Channel's streaming radio brand, launched in 2011, enables listeners to stream CC stations—and create their own—as well as access special programming such as release parties and live performances, via their mobile devices and computers. The total, you'll note, tallies only registered users, not the millions who use iHeartRadio without signing up. And you know who you are. "Clear Channel's passionate industry-leading radio programmers combined with innovative technology-driven enhancements have shaped a truly unmatched all-in-one-streaming service that has allowed iHeartRadio to achieve widespread adoption in record time," said CC CEO/Chairman Bob Pittman without pausing for breath. iHeart also claims some 15.4 billion social impressions, buoyed by events like the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Ultimate Pool Party and iHeartRadio Music Awards show. Which is even more impressions than that kid in our office with the sideways haircut. (6/17a)
