"Happy" passes 10m sales

“HAPPY” PLANET: Pharrell Williams epochal, endlessly irresistible “Happy” has just crossed the 10-million plateau in worldwide sales. Caron Veazey, Pharrell’s co-manager and the GM of his I Am OTHER Entertainment, was the architect of this rare feat. She picked the single to begin with and conceptualized the innovative “24-hour video” that provided the song from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack with much of the momentum that made it so massive—and so universally beloved. Big props as well to Team Columbia for jumping on that momentum and bringing the track home. (6/23a)
