Loma Vista-Concord

NEW ADDRESS, SAME 'HOOD: Tom Whalley’s Loma Vista Records has just moved from Republic to UMG-distributed Concord Music Group, in what’s described as a multi-year, worldwide strategic partnership.” Under the terms of the deal, Concord will provide funding for A&R and artist development, as well as label services for the Loma Vista’s roster. The two-year old label has released albums from St. Vincent, Little Dragon, Rhye, Birds of Tokyo, Cut Copy, Ghost BC, Manchester Orchestra and Soundgarden, as well as the Django Unchained soundtrack. Spoon’s They Want My Soul, the beloved indie-rock band’s first longplayer for Loma Vista, hits on 8/5. Said Universal ruler Lucian Grainge, “Loma Vista and Concord are ideal partners, both creatively and culturally, and we’re thrilled that as a partner ourselves to both of them, UMG can renew and extend our relationship with Tom and build upon our collaboration with Scott [Pascucci, CMG’s Managing Director] Glen [Barros, President/CEO] and the great team at Concord.” (7/1p)
