New Floyd

HAVE A CIGAR: Pink Floyd has confirmed reports that they’ll be releasing a new album, The Endless River, via Columbia in October. The album, produced by Floyd guitarist David Gilmour with Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, Youth and engineer Andy Jackson, is still being assembled but consists largely of ambient/instrumental music based on the Division Bell sessions of 1993-94; look for more details by summer's end. To commemorate the occasion, Columbia chief Rob Stringer has authorized the construction of a skyscraper-sized bong. (7/7p)
