YOU CAN CALL THEM AL: This week's 104k, #1 bow by RCA's "Weird Al" Yankovic is a true marketing coup, as canny use of multiple videos, social networking and media helped power the pop parodist to a debut more than twice that of his prior album. It's noteworthy, by the way, that the album enjoyed a 60-40 digital-physical split, with the lion's share of physical product ordered via Amazon, suggesting a mix of older and younger consumers—all of whom are well versed in Dungeons and Dragons. Among those driving this nerdquake, notes RCA prexy Tom Corson, were marketing exec Aaron Borns, sales specialist Josh Fein and publicist Meg Keough, all of whom are collaborating on a hilarious spoof of Magic!'s "Rude," titled "Nude."
