DAWN OF THE SHAWN: The four-song EP by Island's Shawn Mendes, released this morning on iTunes, took approximately 20 minutes to get to #1. The Canadian singer/songwriter, still more than a week away from his 16th birthday, previously saw his single "Life of the Party" zoom to the top of the iTunes singles chart (the track impacts Top 40 radio this week). He earned millions of followers when he began uploading song snippets to Vine last year; having killed on the MagCon tour of social-media breakouts, he's slated to hit the road with Austin Mahone—and release his debut full-length—later this year.
