TOP 10 TRACKS: The potent combo of an exploding Taylor Swift debut and a still accelerating Meghan Trainor smash (which passed 1.1m on an18% increase) appeared to lift all the other hit records in the sales week ending Sunday. Indeed, every record on the big board was in plus territory apart from Magic!’s former chart-topper “Rude,” which is beginning to cool off (-15%) after 20 weeks on the chart. Apart from the three-headed monster “Bang Bang,” Ariana Grande’s name was absent from the singles Top 10 for the first time in recent memory, but that’s only because she cashed in her Complete My Album chips with Monday’s release of the soon-to-be #1 My Everything. In all, it was a helluva week for the grrrl-powered Republic, between Taylor, Nicki, Ariana and the three amigas, as well as for Epic (Meghan), Def Jam (Iggy) and Capitol (Sam).
