Sting

IT STINGS SO GOOD: Cherrytree/Interscope/A&M have announced the forthcoming release of The Last Ship - Live at the Public Theater DVD (previewed above), featuring songs from Sting's latest album and the upcoming Broadway musical, inspired by his childhood in the English seafaring community of Wallsend. It'll be made available on 9/23 and is currently up for pre-order on Amazon here. The performance, described as "an intimate evening of music and storytelling," was filmed on Sting's birthday with the help of a 14-piece band. FYI, opening night of the play, directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello, is set for 10/26 at the Neil Simon Theatre. (9/2p)
