INTRODUCING JUSTIN & CODY: Justin Bieber has recorded what’s described as an acoustic duets album in collaboration with 17-year-old Aussie popster Cody Simpson, the Guardian reports. Def Jam, the 20-year-old Bieber’s label, will release the as yet untitled record before the end of the year, according to the story. Not coincidentally, Simpson, like Bieber, is managed by Scooter Braun, and he’s “expected to sign with Braun’s School Boy Records,” as the Guardian puts it. “It [was] just us writing,” Simpson told the Sydney Courier-Mail, adding that he played all the guitars. “We were able to write some beautiful songs together, pretty acoustic-sounding... It was a great experience.” Simpson has toured with Bieber and earlier this year was a contestant on the U.S. edition of Dancing With the Stars. (9/8a)
