1D lead single, etc.

FORE! “Steal My Girl,” the lead single from One Direction’s Four (SYCO/Columbia, 11/18), will drop into the open arms of the band’s rabid fans on 9/29. Written by Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne with Ed Drewett, Wayne Hector, Julian Bunetta and John Ryan—the collaborative posse behind last year’s massive “Best Song Ever,” the track was produced by Bunetta, Ryan and Paro Westerlund. The release of “Steal My Girl” follows the giveaway of “Fireproof,” which became the most downloaded freebie ever in the 24 hours it was available, with 1.1m+ downloads. The Four pre-order shot to #1 in 65 territories on the day it was made available and is well ahead of the previous Midnight Memories—which went on to become the top selling album of 2013 worldwide—at the same point. 1D just completed a record-breaking three nights at the Rose Bowl with Capitol sensations Five Seconds of Summer over the weekend. The massive rollout for Four will culminate with the group’s appearance on The Today Show from Orlando on Monday, 11/17. They’re very popular. (9/15a)
