HEAT ON HEATON: 19-year-old Niykee Heaton's debut EP, Bad Intentions—onSteve Rifkind and Russell Simmons' All Def Music, via Capitol—has ascended to #3 on the iTunes Pop chart on the day of its release. The Chicago-born Heaton demonstrates a silky assurance on the set's soulful tracks, and the lyric video above for the title cut has already earned in the neighborhood of 2 million views. All Def was co-founded by Rifkind and Simmons "specifically to sign, develop and promote artists on YouTube," as they announced in July. A video teaser for the six-song EP is here. (9/23p)
