iTunes UK charts

YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS: Pre-order mania is sweeping the U.K., mirroring the stateside phenomenon. Not only are the upcoming albums from Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters (which just kicked in this morning) and One Direction in the Top 10, Slipknot is lurking just below at #13, while instant-grat offerings from the Foos and Slipknot are on the singles leaderboard. The other point of interest on this mid-October Friday is the continuing strength of Sony Music, which claims the top spots on both charts with the debuting Ella Henderson and the torrid Meghan Trainor, plus newly minted alt star George Ezra, EDM-pop craftsman Calvin Harris, the Foos and 1D—all of which adds up to an extra spoon of sugar in Jason Iley’s tea.
