"It's such amazing news that Amy's album has gone to #1, and just goes to show what she still means to people."

HER AMY IS TRUE

Winehouse Debuts at #1 on British Charts, As Album Sales Hit Yearly High
Amy Winehouse lives…at least on record.

The late singer’s posthumous Lioness: Hidden Treasures album, on Universal Island in the U.K. and Universal Republic here, gave the late artist the largest weekly sale of her career in Britain, as overall album sales over the pond reached a yearly high of 4.8 million.

Winehouse debuted at #1 on the British album chart yesterday with 194k in sales, one of four albums to hit six figures, including previous topper, Michael Buble’s Christmas, which landed at #2 with 189k in sales.

"It's such amazing news that Amy's album has gone to #1, and just goes to show what she still means to people," said her mother Janis. £1 from the sale of each album is being donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The album is expected to do between 90-100k in the U.S. when it debuts on the HITS chart tomorrow.

Former X Factor U.K. contestant Rebecca Ferguson’s Heaven (RCA/Sony Music Entertainment) debuted at #3 with 128k, while last week’s #1, U.K. X Factor runner-up and TV host Olly MursIn Case You Didn’t Know (Epic/EMI), fell to #4 with 113k.

Murs’ "Dance with Me Tonight," which sold 46k units last week, is his' third U.K. #1 single, following last year's "Please Don't Go" and "Heart Skips A Beat," in September. Last week's bestseller, "Wishing on a Star" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment) by the 2011 X Factor finalists, fell to #2, as "Dedication to My Ex (Miss That)" (Interscope/Universal) by Lloyd, featuring Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne, entered at #3.

T-Pain’s "5 O'Clock" f/Wiz Khalifa, and Lily Allen, debuted at #6, while Coldplay's "Paradise" (Parlophone/EMI) bounced back to #7.
