For the third time in four weeks, the bank-owned EMI Music looks to grab the #1 slot on the HITS Album chart next Tuesday.
Capitol’s Now 37, which is slated for—wait for it—a six-figure debut, should sell an estimated 100-120k for the latest edition of the hits collection. Not a bad total for the post-iTunes era, where anybody can simply make their own compilations with a click of the mouse.
That’s based on one-day sales reports from those music retailers who haven’t stopped carrying records and started putting up bail bonds.

This is the pair’s self-titled debut, with a rising crossover single in “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” and it looks headed for a debut between 20-24k, which would put them on the cusp of the Top 10 next week.
