Reprise’s Disturbed Bows at #1, Now 35, Lyfe Jennings, Goo Goo Dolls, Heart Also Debut in Top 10

Those Windy City metal rockers Disturbed prove to have what it takes. The Reprise band’s fifth studio album, Asylum, proves the inmates are in control as its fourth consecutive release to debut at #1, scoring 172k in sales.

Capitol/EMI’s Now 35, the latest in the long-running series, bows at #2 with 105k, while holdovers Shady/Aftermath/Interscope’s Eminem (#3), Capitol/EMI’s Katy Perry (#4) and J Records/RMG’s Fantasia (#5) round out the Top 5, giving Roger Faxon’s newly configured EMI Music two in the Top 4.

Asylum R&B crooner Lyfe Jennings makes his Asylum debut with I Still Believe registering a #6 bow, followed by Warner Bros. rock outfit Goo Goo DollsSomething for the Rest of Us (#7).

Island/IDJ multi-platinum teenpop heartthrob Justin Bieber stays steady at #8, while Disney’s Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam moves #19-9, +58%, thanks to the show’s cable debut.

Legacy veterans Heart return with their latest, Red Velvet Car, debuting at #10.

Other Top 50 newcomers include Universal Republic’s 10 Years (#18), Eleven Seven’s Papa Roach (#18), Lost Highway’s Ryan Bingham (#20), Provident/Reunion’s Israel Houghton (#24), Def Jam/IDJ’s Fabolous (#31) and Nettwerk’s Weepies (#35).

19/Arista Nashville’s Carrie Underwood (#38) and Columbia’s Glee: The Music Vol. 3 Showstoppers (#43) both return to the sales chart.

After Disney’s Camp Rock 2, the week’s largest double-digit gainer is Atlantic’s Zac Brown Band (#25-22, +14%).

Hitting retail this week is Epic’s Sara Bareilles, Roadrunner’s Stone Sour, Matador’s Interpol and Universal Republic’s Anberlin.
