What better month for Portland, OR’s The Decemberists to launch their new album, the follow-up to their Capitol Records breakthrough The Hazards of Love/ The band's making a big move at Triple A with “Down by the Water,” the first track from their upcoming album, The King Is Dead, which hits retail Jan. 18. They launch a U.S tour Jan. 2 through Feb. 19, with three nights scheduled at N.Y.’s Beacon Theater before embarking on a European swing. There’s also plenty of press, including features in Rolling Stone, Nylon and Relix for the Ron Laffitte/Jason Colton-managed band in the Red Light stable. For the complete Vibe entry, click here.
