U.K. Thrush Now #1 Digital Album of All Time, Crashes Top 10 Digital Songs
If you had any doubt that 2011 was a historic year for Adele, the facts will certainly convince you.

The U.K. pop diva’s XL/Columbia album 21, currently closing in on 6 million sold in the U.S. alone, is the #1 digital seller of all time, with 1.8 million, topping the #2 seller, Glassnote’s Mumford & Sons, by almost 700k.

In addition, her “Rolling in the Deep” has moved into the #7 slot on the All-Time Digital Songs chart, with almost 6 million.

21 is now #105 on the SoundScan era best-seller list, nestled between Madonna’s Immaculate Collection and Sarah McLachlan’s Surfacing.

Metallica’s self-titled 1991 album tops the All-Time Album Sales chart with 15.7 million.

The rest of the Top 10 includes Shania Twain’s Come On Over (#2, 15.5m), Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill (#3, 14.7m), Backstreet BoysMillennium (#4, 12.2m), The Beatles 1 (#5, 12m), Bodyguard soundtrack (#6, 11.8m), Santana’s Supernatural (#7, 11.7m), Creed’s Human Clay (#8, 11.6m), NSYNC’s No Strings Attached (#9, 11.1m) and Celine Dion’s Falling Into You (#10, 10.8m). Other 10 million-plus sellers include Norah JonesCome Away With Me (#11, 10.78m), Bob Marley and the WailersLegend (#12, 10.6m), Britney SpearsBaby One More Time (#13, 10.54m), Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP (#14, 10.536m), Hootie & the Blowfish’s Cracked Rear View (#15, 10.3m), Titanic soundtrack (#16, 10.1m), Backstreet Boys (#17, 10.1m) and Eminem Show (#18, 10m).

That gives Backstreet Boys and Eminem two apiece of the diamond sellers, while Dion is represented with her own album and the Titanic soundtrack.

Aside from Adele t #7, the Top 10 Digital Songs include Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” (#1, 7.7m), Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” (#2, 6.5m) and “Let’s Dance” (#3, 6.4m), Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” (#4, 6.3m), Flo Rida f/T-Pain’s “Low” (#5, 6.152m), Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” (#6, 6.148m), Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” (#8, 5.9m), Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” (#9, 5.74m) and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” (#10, 5.72m).

Following Adele and Mumford & Sons on the Digital Album all-time tally are Eminem’s Recovery (#3, 1.1m), Lady Gaga’s Fame (#4, 1m) and Born This Way (#5, 877k), Coldplay’s Viva la Vida (#6, 841k), Taylor Swift’s Fearless (#7, 681k), Kings of Leon’s Only by the Night (#8, 710k), Twilight soundtrack (#9, 682k) and Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (#10, 681k).
