Three New Acts Rate Debuts on HITS' Up and Coming Chart
A Nickelodeon-spawned boy band, an indie-rock duo crooning Christmas chestnuts and a comebacking U.K. rock group top the list of this week’s new entries on HITSVibe-Raters chart of the up and coming.

Nickelodeon/Columbia act Big Time Rush return with their sophomore album, Elevate, after their debut topped 600k in sales. The show’s new season starts in November, coming off the heels of a successful summer tour, with holiday radio shows coming up. Look for a headline national tour next year. The first single, “Music Sounds Better With U,” goes to Top 40 in mid-Nov., with the album at retail Nov. 21. For more information, go here.

Merge Records act She & Him are “It” girl Zooey Deschanel and indie-rock auteur M. Ward, whose third album, A Very She & Him Christmas, offers a selection of holiday classics, hitting retail Oct. 24. A portion of proceeds from sales of the album will go to 826National, a children’s charity. Look for the first track, “The Christas Waltz” to go to Triple A,l Hot Adult and PoMo for an 11/21 ad date. Selections include “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Silver Bells” and “The Christmas Song.” Deschanel, the star of the Fox series New Girl, is slated to sing the national anthem at Game 4 of the World Series on the network. Veteran U.K. rockers Kasabian return with their fourth album, Velociraptor!, on Sony Music through RED. The first track, “Days Are Forgotten,” is already scoring at PoMo and college radio at stations like WFNX, WWCD, KKDO, WEQX and Sirius/XM’s Alt. Nation, among others. Look for two headline shows at London’s O2 Arena in December, and stateside dates beginning mid-March, including SXSW, Coachella and Bonnaroo. Get the full story here.
