The Strange Familiar (http://thestrangefamiliar.com): They recently won the Freshmen Challenge on mtvu.com, scoring some rotation on the TV channel. The group just got back from SXSW, and the single” Being Me” is starting to get some love at Hot AC and AAA. According to frontwoman Kira Leyden, the song " was written to lyrically interpret the idea of peeling away the layers of who you are not. The clothes I wear in the video are all costumes I’ve actually worn on stage. After years of trying to get a reaction out of an audience with outrageous clothes, I finally realized I’m much more interesting just being myself.” Check out the video here—we think it’s pretty great.

Wild Belle (https://www.facebook.com/wildbelle): We mentioned last week that they were one of the bands buzzin’ at SXSW, and since then things have heated up even more. We hear several labels are chasin’ after this duo, who currently reside in Brooklyn. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
