This may well be his last week there, as Rick Ross’ Def Jam/IDJ album Teflon Don hits stores today and could give it a run for the top spot next Tuesday.
Korn’s Roadrunner debut, Korn III: Remember Who You Are, is the top debut, entering at #2 with 62k in sales, followed by Decca’s Sting, as Symphonicity, featuring orchestral versions of his greatest hits, coming in at #5.
Holdovers like YM/Cash Money/Universal Motown’s Drake (#3) and Island/IDJ”s Justin Bieber (#4) round out the Top 5.
Arista Nashville country newcomer Jerrod Niemann’s Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury debuts at #6, followed by another new entrant in Epic metal supergroup Hell Yeah’s Stampede at #7.
Completing the Top 10 are Chop Shop/Atlantic’s Twilight Saga: Eclipse (#8), Capitol/EMI’s Now 34 (#9) and Capitol Nashville/EMI’s Lady Antebellum (#10).
Controversial N.E.E.T./Interscope rabble-rouser M.I.A.’s Maya (#2) tops the group of additional Top 50 debuts, which also includes InPop Christian rockers Newsboys (#14); Sire Arizona alternative band The Maine (#16); Capitol/EMI’s Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse collaboration, Dark Night of the Soul (#26); Universal Republic’s Sky Sailing (#28), the first band of Owl City’s Adam Young, Razor & Tie’s Norma Jean (#32), Island/IDJ’s Curren$y (#48) and Fantasy/Concord Music’s Crowded House (#49).
Biggest gainer of the week is Interscope’s Black Eyed Peas (#23), up 8%.
Next week, aside from Rick Ross, the new releases include Disney’s Jonas L.A. soundtrack album, A&M’s Sheryl Crow and another Razor & Tie Kidz Bop title.
