Whenever I go see a band live, the first thing I ask myself is whether the frontperson is believable and has “star power”—and let me tell ya, Sarah Hudson has that “it” quality.

WHEELS 2.0 RUNS ON STAR POWER

This Week, Jesse Shakes Off His Inhibitions and Rocks the Dance Floor

In the latest edition of Wheels, we turn our attention to a group we spotlighted a year ago who are now poised for big things, as well as an artist who made a huge sales impact after her song appeared on a big TV show. Keep feedin’ my inbox: [email protected]

SPOTLIGHT
UltraViolet Sound
(www.myspace.com/ultravioletsound): Radiating extreme energy, bright lights and amazing sounds, Ultraviolet Sound represents the next evolutionary step in the blending of pop and electro. These underground sensations are set to blow the lid off during the second half of 2010 and share their message with audiences worldwide. We told you about these guys about a year ago and subsequently had the pleasure of seeing them live. Whenever I go see a band live, the first thing I ask myself is whether the frontperson is believable and has “star power”—and let me tell ya, Sarah Hudson has that “it” quality. Now, normally, the pop/electro-dance thing isn’t my vibe, but the moment I laid eyes on Sarah, she immediately pulled me in. The band has toured extensively, and Hudson is no amateur. They toured nonstop for a year and a half as well, performing alongside the likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, after which they dedicated 12 full months to writing, engineering and producing their full-length label debut. Their first single “Suck My Kiss” was co-written with Desmond Child, and their dance remix will be hitting clubs and mix shows on July 21. Keep it locked to Wheels as we follow this band in the coming months.

ONE TO WATCH
Christina Perri
(http://www.christinaperri.com/): Her single which was featured on When So You Think You Can Dance featured her single “Jar of Hearts” last week, the impact was immediate and dramatic, as the track sold more than 47k at the iTunes Store. Barrett Yeretsian, who also is working with Carlos Santana’s son at the moment, produced the track. We fell in love with Christina’s vocals as soon as we heard them; she’s unsigned at the moment, but that won’t be the case much longer.

BAND UPDATE
Man on Earth
(www.myspace.com/manonearth): These Wheels favorites just pumped out some fresh tunes, which have the industry buzzin’. Check out their MySpace page for a couple of their new tracks; we especially love “All Alone.”
