WHEELS 2.0 SWERVES BACK INTO THE FAST LANE

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines.

Wheels is back in motion after a much-needed holiday tune-up. Thanks for making our first year such a blast, and we look forward to discovering more music with you in 2009. On that note, we’re extremely psyched to start off the year with three awesome artists. Let the band submissions begin… Well, what are you waiting for? [email protected]

Me Talk Pretty (www.myspace.com/metalkpretty): This rock group from N.Y. is fronted by bombshell Julia Preotu, whose bloodlines are Romanian and Armenian. The band is garnering a lot of buzz within the industry due to their amazing live show and determined DIY approach. Me Talk Pretty had a big ’08, highlighted by a slot on the Warped Tour and two months of featured visibility on Purevolume. They recently completed a three-song demo produced by Arun Venkatesh (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday) and mixed by Mike Plotnikoff (Flyleaf, Daughtry, My Chemical Romance) that has led to showcases for six labels, with more to come. Repped by Nick Ferrara of Serling Rooks & Ferrara, LLP, the band has surrounded itself with a savvy team and continues to rock live. Look for big things from them in the coming months.

Telepathe (www.myspace.com/telepathe): Female dance duo out of Brooklyn heats up in the New Year. Initially developed as a side project for Melissa Livaudis of First Nation and Busy Gangnes of Bloodlines, Telepathe have taken flight and are quickly making a name for themselves, gaining increased momentum from their recent tour with Diplo. We look forward to seeing them this year at SXSW as a part of the IAMSOUND Records party, as well as other venues throughout the week. Look for their digital album release on Jan. 27, produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio.

NEWLY INKED BAND WORTH CHECKING OUT
Green River Ordinance (www.myspace.com/gro): The facts: Boast strong musicianship and incredible songwriting. Single "Come On" now available for downloading on iTunes; impacts AAA 2/9. Signed to Virgin by Kim Stephens and Logan Waters. Album streeting Feb. 24, produced by Mark Endert and Paul Ebersold. Managed by Paul Steele of Trivate Ent and booked by Dave Klein and Jeff Krones at CAA.
