SWIFT STAYS IN FAST LANE

Fearless Once More Tops Chart, Notorious Soundtrack Bows #4, Beyonce, Nickelback, Kanye Still Top 5
Taylor Swift’s #1 again this week, the fifth consecutive time she’s topped the HITS Album sales chart as Fearless racks up another 63k, topping 2.3 million sold.

That was more than enough to top Columbia diva Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce, which climbs two spots to #2 with 51k in sales, a 5% increase over the previous week.

Roadrunner’s Nickelback is up next, as Dark Horse gallops to #3 and 48k in sales.

Bad Boy/Atlantic’s Notorious, the soundtrack to the Biggie Smalls biopic which just opened in theatres to nice reviews and an impressive box office of $20 million, debuts at #4 with 39k.

Roc-a-Fella/IDJ’s Kanye West rounds out the Top 5 with 808s & Heartbreak, trailing Notorious by less than 100 copies.

The rest of the Top 10 includes Atlantic’s Twilight soundtrack (#6), Jive/JLG’s Britney Spears (#7), J Records/RMG’s Jamie Foxx (#8), Geffen’s Keyshia Cole (#9) and 19/RCA/RMG’s David Cook, who moves #19-10, with a 58% boost, thanks to last week’s return of Fox’s American Idol.

UMe’s Now That’s What I Call Motown is the week’s other top chart newcomer at #14, along with N.E.E.T./Interscope’s Slumdog Millionaire, Victor/Sony Music Group’s Derek Trucks Band (#21) and EMI Gospel’s Heather Headley (#29).

Other double-digit gainers include Columbia’s John Legend (#45-25, +39%) and Warner Bros.Seal (#48-38, +16%).

The month’s next big release comes Jan. 27, when Bruce Springsteen’s Working on a Dream hits retail.
