LED ZEP WILL FLY WITHOUT PLANT

Q-Prime’s Peter Mensch Tells BBC It Will Happen
Those Led Zeppelin-without-Robert Plant reunion rumors are heating up again

Jimmy Page’s manager, Q-Prime’s Peter Mensch, told the BBC here that the guitarist definitely plans to reform the band without the singer.

According to Mensch, Page, bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham—son of original drummer John Bonham—will definitely tour, and may even record an album.

“People don’t really understand it,” said Mensch. “Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16 years old. He likes being a musician. That’s what he does! He doesn’t want to be a racecar driver or a solicitor.

“When the three of them did the show, they had a really good time rehearsing, even before Robert showed up. They decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill—whatever their bill was at this stage in their career—that they’d make a record and go on tour.

“And I support that because, why not? That’s what Jimmy Page does. That’s his job, his hobby, his vocation.”

Mensch revealed that the band have yet to find a replacement for Plant. Although he wouldn’t confirm any names, the rumored list includes Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy.

“I can’t comment on any rumors right now,” Mensch continued, “It’s gonna be a long and difficult process. And we’re not soliciting people! So don’t call me about it!”

It’s also not known whether the new outfit would be touring as Led Zeppelin or with a new name.
