YAHOO! MUSIC OFFERS NEW ARTIST PAGES
The site will launch Artist Pages, a free consumer feature that aggregates the best music products, services, information and content on the Web for more than 500,000 artists, on April 7.
The Artist Pages will be the domain of music fans, who can create their own canvas of content and commerce offerings. Users can customize their own Artist Pages, selecting among modules offering iTunes, Amazon.com, Last.fm, Rhapsody, Pandora, YouTube and Yahoo! Users will be able to create and self-publish their own Artist Pages, with the platform open to any musician, artist or record label.
Yahoo SVP Jeff Dossett commented: “Yahoo! is focused on attracting and engaging the largest online audience and connecting each individual to the people and experiences that matter most to them. With Yahoo! Music’s Artist Pages, we’re creating a truly open and indispensable music destination that will drive music fans to Yahoo! first on their path to music discovery, experience and purchase. The re-launched Artist Pages is an attempt to attract music fans who use multiple online music products and services, and help unify them in a seamless online music experience
Yahoo!
