"Working with Jim Urie and everyone at UMVD has been, without a doubt, one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career."

DAVIS RULES AT UME

Veteran Distribution Exec Named EVP/GM for Catalog and Ancillary Marketing Company
There's a new man in town at UMe. But you already knew that.

As we first announced several weeks ago, Mike Davis has been named Executive Vice President and General Manager of Universal Music Enterprises by President Bruce Resnikoff. The L.A.-based Davis reports directly to Resnikoff. Most recently, he was UMVD EVP Sales and Marketing.

Davis will oversee film & TV music, special markets, Product Development (A&R) and the New Door label, as well as all physical and digital sales and marketing initiatives, as well as monitoring paper clip and xerox machine usage.

Resnikoff said the aggressive expansion of UMe's business to take full advantage of new opportunities emerging in the marketplace led to hiring Davis. “In order to stay the leader in this industry, we need to build upon our current base and constantly innovate. Mike is a strong executive with significant experience in building high-performing businesses, and I am certain that his expertise will only enhance further UMe’s winning formula. Now, if we can only find him a parking spot he'll be set.”

Added Davis: “I am eager to be moving into the next phase of my career and doing it alongside Bruce and the entire UMe team. Working with Jim Urie and everyone at UMVD has been, without a doubt, one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. I’ve formed close working relationships with people whom I have grown to admire and respect. I now look forward to the next set of challenges, and I am very grateful to Bruce for this opportunity. Now when did you say this will be appearing in Billboard?”
