RCA diva Christina Aguilera’s new album will easily top the HITS album chart next week, with a first-week total that could soar past 360k.
She is one of six newcomers to the Top 10, with Columbia rapper Lyfe Jennings (125-135k), Capitol Nashville’s Trace Adkins (115-125k) and Disney’s Cheetah Girls 2 soundtrack (85-90k) making it four for four debuts in the Top Four.
Lone Top 5 holdover Sony Music Group’s Now 22 remains steady at #5, followed by two more chart crashers in Capitol’s sister R&B foursome Cherish (75-80k) and Eminem posse member Obie Trice’s new Shady/Aftermath effort (75-80k).
Last week’s #1, Def Jam/IDJ hip-hop hustler Rick Ross drops to #8, with 70-75k, while Jive/ZLG’s Step Up soundtrack (60-65k) and Roadrunner/IDJ’s perennial Nickelback round out the 10 best.
Downtown/Atlantic’s Gnarls Barkley and Bad Boy/Atlantic’s Cassie are up next with between 45-50k apiece, trailed by Capitol’s LeToya (40-45k).
Tuesday, look for LaFace/ZLG’s massive new OutKast album, the soundtrack to their upcoming motion picture Idlewild, to hit retail with force.
