MYSPACE MAKES THE LIST

New Programming Initiative Launches with Live Taking Back Sunday Show from L.A.'s Roxy
Is MySpace over? Not if you're on The List.

That's the name of the influential website's newest programming initiative, streaming exclusive, live content from special performances which can only be attended by winning entrants.

L.A's Roxy Theater serves as the setting for the concerts, tickets of which are awarded to 150-200 MySpace members who correctly answer questions sent via a bulletin. A rebroadcast can then be accessed at www.myspace.com/thelist.

The List's debut featured a live performance by Taking Back Sunday, who promoted their new album, Louder Now, which comes out today, at the Roxy, with only 200 people admitted to the normally 500-capacity venue. MySpace users can hear about The List performances only by becoming a friend of their favorite band on the site. Future bands will be announced exclusively to the band’s MySpace friend network through a series of questions sent via a MySpace bulletin. The first 150-200 winning responses are granted access to The List performance.

In the first week, more than 36,000 MySpace members joined The List profile. MySpace users viewing The List profile can check out exclusive clips capturing key live moments from the performance as well as an interview with the band. Friends of The List can also see photos from the last show, join online forums and engage with other fans through their MySpace comments and messaging.

Word on the street is the next MySpace show will feature performances by Gnarls Barkley and Mylo and will take place Friday night at the Glass House in Pomona before the acclaimed band, which includes Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse, performs at Coachella this weekend.
