"I look forward to extending the reach of our roster as we break new artists and take established stars to even greater heights."

KLAIMAN TO UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC

Veteran Exec Named Sr. VP Promotion/Artist Development
With just 100 pounds—give or take 80 pounds—of Klaiman, Universal Republic has itself a new Senior Vice President of Promotion/Artist Development in Joel.

Label President Monte Lipman praised Klaiman as “the consummate executive, recognized by peers, artists and managers alike as a premier presence in the field of promotion and artist development. Since joining the Universal Republic promotion department, he has helped to refocus our staff, demonstrating his unique ability to build relationships and create and integrate successful strategies across all formats of radio and video.” Your head of publicity couldn’t have said it better, Monte.

Klaiman will supervise and direct promotion strategies across all radio and video platforms, as well as oversee the national and field promotion staff, with duties including devising innovative promotion campaigns for a diverse roster of artists, among them Hinder, The Who, Godsmack, John Mellencamp, Jack Johnson, Damian Marley, 3 Doors Down and Nina Sky.

Said Klaiman: “I want to thank Mel Lewinter and Monte Lipman for this tremendous opportunity. I’m happy to join the exceptional executive team Monte has in place and believe that Universal Republic has the potential to become one of the most formidable labels in our business. I look forward to extending the reach of our roster as we break new artists and take established stars to even greater heights. Now, has anyone seen my Xanax?”

Klaiman was previously EVP Promotion for Epic Records. Prior to that, he has held a number of executive positions in the music business, including roles at Sony 550 Music’s The WorkGroup, EastWest Records, the Elektra Entertainment Group and Savage Records. Klaiman began his career in 1990 as a manager for Frank DiLeo Management. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Paul Green School of Rock, a performance-based, interactive music school dedicated to helping young people realize their potential as music artists.
