CHRIST RISES AGAIN

Takes Box Office, Crowds Forget Alamo
The Easter holiday was good to The Passion of the Christ, as it brought in $17.1 million over the weekend. The movie is now #8 on the all-time box office list, just behind Jurassic Park.

New movies opening over the weekend didn’t fair as well. Disney epic The Alamo finished tied for third with Cedric the Entertainer’s Johnson Family Vacation with just $9.2 million.

Also debuting were three comedies: Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry’s The Whole Ten Yards at #8 with $6.7 million, Anne Hathaway’s Ella Enchanted at #9 with $6.1 million and The Girl Next Door in 10the with $6 million.

Look for Kill Bill Vol. 2, opening this weekend, to do killer numbers.

Here’s the rest of the Top 10: #2 Hellboy ($11.1m); #5 Walking Tall ($8.3m); #6 Home on the Range ($8.2m); #7 Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
