NORAH’S FOUR-PLAY!!

That’s four and counting for Blue Note sensation Norah Jones, whose Feels Like Home logs its fourth consecutive week on the charts, with 195k in sales.

Columbia/CRG multi-media star Jessica Simpson was the runner-up, as the Chicken of the Sea aficionado climbed #15-2 (as in two-na fish), thanks to a repackaged version of her album In This Skin that includes a DVD and a hot new single, "Take My Breath Away." Her album was up a whopping 203% from the week before, with more than 157k in sales.

Virgin Entertainment Group’s Jerry Suarez stopped baking a cake with a saw in it for Martha Stewart long enough to comment: "Norah continues to be the story of the year. She has created such a strong connection with her audience and dominates our charts for yet another week. And the addition of DVD footage to the Jessica Simpson CD made her the biggest gainer of the week."

The top of the charts was pretty much the same, with Wind-up’s Evanescence (#3), Roc-A-Fella/IDJ’s Kanye West (#4), BNA/RLG’s Kenny Chesney (#5), Arista’s OutKast (#6), A&M/Interscope’s Sheryl Crow (#7), 143/Reprise’s Josh Groban (#8), Jive’s Eamon (#9) and Roc-A-Fella/IDJ’s Young Gunz (#10), the latter giving Damon Dash’s label two in the Top 10.

Arista soul star Cee-Lo returned with his sophomore album as the highest-charting newcomer at #13. Razor & Tie’s urban compilation Tha Down Low, bowed at #19, continuing the indie label’s hot streak after debuting with Kidz Bop 5 last week. Equity Music Group country veteran Clint Black bowed at #22.

Added Suarez: "Cee-Lo had such a solid debut, I’ve renamed him Cee-High. Get it?"

Also debuting was J Records’ Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (#40) and Columbia/CRG’s Cold Mountain soundtrack (#50).

Aside from Simpson, the biggest gainer was A&M/Interscope’s Black Eyed Peas, who went #38-20 with a 15% increase, as new single, "Hey Mama," begins to cross.
